Confeeermed! Tsek! Pak!

Atty. Midas Marquez is one of the popular faces on television these days, what with his criticism of the DOJ directive to prevent the Arroyos from leaving the country and the recent reprimand he got from the Justices for "stepping beyond his mandate" in the best reality show on Philippine TV -- The Arroyos.

The good Supreme Court spokesperson is well known especially with the ladies because a lot of women (and men, too) find him cute. Cute lawyers are not unheard of. Our government offices may not have an abundance of cute lawyers, but we cherish them all the more.

I came across this video while reading tweets on my timeline and I was intrigued by my friends' posts. You can just imagine how hard I was laughing at the latter part.

Like I said, we don't have an abundance of cute lawyers, and cute gay lawyers are a rarity these days. I guess they have good reasons to hide their true selves because they might be discriminated against should they practice in pink. I happen to personally know one myself.

But then, some straight guys squeal like little girls when they're surprised, so there's a possibility that he's just like that. But I'm pretty sure you're going to say I'm so wrong. Gay or straight, I don't really care. He's cute and that's all that matters.

These People

I’ve been reading a lot of tweets about people rallying against the arrival of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. They say it perpetuates the “lopsided” relations between the Philippines and the United States. Though some of them may have the purest of intentions, I believe most of them, like many of us, are hypocrites.

Give them an American citizenship and I bet they’ll surely leave their posts for a better life abroad.

On the Bill

Life is full of its comings and goings. But it's no longer good if there are more people coming than those going. I've recently read on the internet the latest bill being implemented and how some people claim that they represent the majority who do not approve of it. In a country with a growth rate of 2.04 percent (that's 90 million today), I think the family planning bill is needed. Contraception is good for people who cannot control when their hormones kick in (that's a lot of people). I also believe that the population has a direct effect on the success of a country. It's simple, really. Think about this: would a country grow if it has to take care of 90 million heads everyday, with more on the way than leaving? That's too much for a small country with really big dreams. Imagine serving a populace with families bigger than what they've planned. Look at the upper class, they've only started a number they can feed and now they can feed even more if they choose to. We're already lacking on so many things - so many problems and all - the easiest, I think, would be to control population growth. I think it would balance the scales a bit.  I am not against the CBCP, but we seriously need serious population control. I am for the bill.
